Looking Great at Any Age

It’s Wednesday afternoon. Your blackberry is flashing. One new email. Dinner on Saturday? Hot new Italian restaurant? Pick you up at 7? You think for a split second and then reply, Yes! You are excited about the prospect of going on a date, but then momentary panic sets in – WHAT WILL I WEAR? I HAVE NOTHING IN MY CLOSET!

Hold on, no need to panic, zChic Goddess is here to help you. With a few tweaks and additions to your wardrobe, we will get you on the right path to looking great and feeling confident. Whether you are in you 30s, 40s, or 50s, you can look great at any age. The key to looking fabulous is picking the right outfits that are stylish and comfortable and that make everyone’s head turn when you enter a room!

Look to zGoddess.com to keep you up to date on the latest styles and trends, and to give you useful tips on becoming your most fabulous self. For this date, we’ll take a page from that perennial style setter, Jackie O, and focus on the DRESS! It’s classic and instantly conveys glamour and femininity. There is also something to be said for being a little more covered up and keeping the air of mystery alive. And it's so easy, just zip yourself up and you are dressed. This year’s shifts, sheaths and print cocktail dresses will have you put together in no time.

If you are in your 30s: You’ve been working out religiously. Your arms are toned, your legs are taut. How about a sleeveless cream jersey shift that accentuates the positive? You can add a modern edge to your look by adding a short fitted jacket in an unexpected light bronze metallic snakeskin. Add a medium-width black patent belt to highlight your waist. Keep your jewelry to a minimum, but perhaps add a fun brushed gold cocktail ring. If your legs are assets go ahead and flaunt them, but keep your dress just above the knee for a classic line. Complete your look with some sexy bronze metallic platform sandals and an envelope clutch in a coordinating color.

If you are in your 40s: Wow your date in a printed cocktail sheath in black and white that is sophisticated and eye-catching at the same time. A rich print will be busy, so limit your jewelry to some tasteful diamond studs and a simple black bangle or cuff. Wear your hair up to play up your neckline. Don’t be afraid to add a pop of color to your outfit with a brightly hued bolero jacket in an unexpected bright yellow or emerald green. Black leather d’Orsay pumps with a kitten heel will keep you comfortable and add a beautiful line to your leg. If you want to go higher, try black patent pumps with a 3 inch heel. Keep your legs bare, but make sure they have that slight glow of a tan. Add a structured clutch in gunmetal grey or black textured leather to give your outfit a finishing touch.

If you are in your 50s: Look to the classic black shift dress, but make it more interesting by wearing one that has a structural quality to it. Try to find one made of the best material, lined and cut to flatter your figure. You will have it forever if it is of the highest quality. Keep the line of the dress close to your body and add a skinny black patent belt. A fun coat in perhaps a leopard print will add some pizzazz to the starkness of the dress. An alternative to the fun coat is one of those new geometric necklaces in metal, crystal and ribbon to add just the right amount of playfulness and edge to your outfit. Black leather peeptoe pumps and a simple black satin clutch will complete your elegant ensemble.

In the end, the woman who is comfortable in her own skin is the most attractive to a man. Clothes do not make a woman, but they do help to bring out your inner, more flirtatious self. When you wear an outfit that accentuates your best points, you stand up taller, feel more confident, and exude an aura that attracts others. So go ahead, take a chance and experiment! Find out what works best for you and your shape. Ask a good friend to give you the honest truth about whether an outfit flatters you. Look to zGoddess.com and fashion magazines to catch up on the latest trends. zGoddess will be your guide to get you where you want to be! Most of all, have fun and try new things. Your clothes are the punctuation to you, the most beautiful goddess!

What to wear in BAD weather?

I am constantly searching for the perfect footwear that can move from snow to the office! Any good options for snow and rain where I don't HAVE to change out of the shoes?

Also, any good fashionable handbags for bad weather also? I have high end gorgeous bags that I cringe at taking in the rain. I also cannot stomach using a cheapy bag in the rain, no matter how bad it is outside!

Amelia's rainy day picks

Gals, isn't it the worst when you step into a puddle in your gorgeous Jimmy Choos?  Look stylish and save your shoe investments, by trying the Aquaitalia by Marvin K line of boots.  They are beautifully made, Italian boots crafted from waterproof suede and leather.  I love the "Ivory" suede knee boot ($450) which comes in black and espresso, and has a slim heel.  Every fashion editor's fave this fall is the bootie.  The Aquaitlia "Rookie" is so cute!  I'd wear it with everything!  It's also made of black waterproof suede, and trimmed in patent. ($298).  Go to www.nordstrom.com

As for bags, shiny patent leather will have you smiling on rainy days.  Coach has some adorable ones.  The Poppy Groovy satchel bag in black patent ($198) and the larger Garret in gunmetal grey or cobalt blue patent ($358) will give your outfit a lift.  I also adore Kate Spade's Knightbridge in embossed patent calfskin for a ladylike addition to your purse wardrobe ($425).  Colored patent is hot now, and if you want that statement purse in a classic shape, and can raid your bank account, you go can't go wrong with Louis Vuitton's Alma MM in Monogram Vernis leather.  It comes in black, bronze, red, pink, and a fabulous blue.

Stay dry and look fabulous!
